Dual Credit Spanish
CNM Spanish 1110/1120
Do you want to take Dual Credit Spanish? Start here!!!
¡Hola!
You are here because you are interested or required to take dual credit Spanish through CNM at Del Norte High School. Please go over the steps (active links). Make sure to use a computer because mobile phones might not work for the some of the necessary steps. You will need to complete steps 1-5 as soon as possible. I will help you with step 7 because our course is hidden (so that no one out of Del Norte can find it).
Steps to Becoming a Dual Credit Student
Complete the steps below to get started as a Dual Credit student or visit the Steps to Becoming a Dual Credit Student website.
- Apply and Get a CNM Student ID Number
- The first step is to apply to CNM. Make sure to select Dual Credit as your student type. Failure to do so will delay your application.
- Submit the Required Agreement Form
- Once you have your CNM ID number you can fill out the Agreement Form. The agreement form says to email it back to admissions but you will need to email your form directly to me, Oscar Villanueva, so I can make sure it is complete before I send it to CNM.
- The form asks for your STARS ID number (which is different from your APS ID number). I can look that up for you so leave it blank.
- CNM is accepting electronic signatures so if your device allows you and your parents to sign electronically, please do so. If not, you will have to print the form, fill it out, scan it, and email it to me. You can also pick up a form from me in room 255.
- Set Up Your myCNM Account
- Complete New Student Orientation
- Take the Accuplacer Placement Exam
- In order to be eligible to take this class, you must take the Accuplacer (Reading) exam and score a 257 or higher.
- The Accuplacer measures your English skills (not Spanish) and you do not need to take the math portion.
- I cannot proctor the Accuplacer so you must schedule your exam directly with CNM using the link from their website.
- Schedule your exam and take it as soon as you get your CNM ID number.
- You will need to access your CNM account to schedule an appointment.
- Make sure to email me your score report. Once I verify your score, I will help you register for the class.
- Meet with a CNM Dual Credit Academic Coach
- Not necessary unless you want to take additional courses
- Register for Classes
- I will help you with this step once you have taken the Accuplacer
- Get a CNM Student ID Card
- Not necessary unless you want to access to the CNM Library or labs
- Get Your Textbooks
- Not necessary; our course has en eBook included
- Locate Your Classes
- Not necessary; our course meets at Del Norte High School in room 255
Please keep me posted about your progress. Feel free to email me or you can message me through the Band app for a faster response time. If you have not joined the Band for our class, please do so now by scanning the QR code with your phone.
